In 2014 Pakistan has won the bronze medal at the Asian Games 2014 and this victory was made possible after a long and tough struggle by all members of the team.The country is one of the most formidable fielding teams in international badminton, and has managed to pull off some notable victories. Notably, they won both men's and women's team gold medals at the 2004 Asian Badminton Championships. The 2004 Asian Badminton Championships was also the first major international event that Pakistani teams had won since 1988. At this tournament, Imran Ali led a team that included Mohammed Mustafa, Rashid Mehmood, Pervez Ahmed and Parvia Islam to victory against India 16-13 in a closely contested final match. This win, however, would not be reproduced at future world championships. Other than that, the Pakistani teams have also had some success in the Thomas Cup and Uber Cup.
