We're living in a great era for movies. Marvel produced a new hit this weekend with Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, and there's been more than one blockbuster this year that fans have been excited about. And then there are the old classics that have stood the test of time, like Mulan and Dumbo. Now, along comes a movie that's both new and old. It's something that is sure to appeal to fans of classic animated features like The Little Mermaid, Robin Hood, Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, 101 Dalmatians, Mulan...the list goes on.It's also something that fans of Bollywood may have come up with themselves. After all, Indian comic books are an over-marketed genre in India. The film is called EK HASEENA THI EK DEEWANA THA 2 (which roughly translates to 'I am the daughter of Ek Khambaaz'). The movie's story is an odd one about a prince who meets a princess who looks just like him, and then sets out to find her.The film, which opens in India on Friday (16 February), was written by Indian comic book writers Devashish Makhija and Manu Sethi. It was directed by Danish director Vikram Bhatt, whose movies include the 2010 Indian horror film Thaandavam (which was also produced by Bhushan Rakesh) and the 2011 Hindi-language action film Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. Bhatt may be new to Bollywood, but he wasn't without previous connection to the comic book world. His father was the late Dara Singh, a comic book artist and writer. That connection got Bhatt his first job in the comic book world: illustrating and writing for some of Dara's strips. The movie is pretty cheesy at some points, but it's also ridiculously fun at others. As for what you get with this movie–you get something that was made in part to introduce Indian audiences to an international film genre at the same time. Fans are sure to appreciate getting to see Indian actors in roles that are really close to their own lives. The story itself is all over the place, attempting to juggle several different genres in one story. It's part comedy, part romance, part action, part crime, and part mystery. You never know what you're going to get next. The story kicks off with the aforementioned prince and the King of Oodhaya (Saurabh Shukla) looking at a painting of a beautiful princess. The two seem to be proud of the woman in the painting, since she's their daughter. However, there's something that they're not telling anyone: the princess disappeared 20 years prior to this point. Anyhow, we soon find out that there is another man who looks just like the king and his son–it's none other than Rishabh (Shahid Kapoor). cfa1e77820
